Located in Wichita, Kansas a neighborhood mostly residential area located between Arkansas and Little Arkansas Rivers is home to several of the city’s museums and large parks. Riverside was founded in 1886 when Riverside Land Company had the area surveyed and platted.
The company intended for the new neighborhood to be Wichita’s most stylish residential area and supported. Construction of bridges and a trolley line to connect to downtown. The local real estate market collapsed the next year so development stalled for a decade.
One of the reasons why Riverside is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Wichita is because it is the central location for many people, from young professionals to starting up families that enjoy living in a quiet area not far from the central business center in Delano.

Riverside Parks
Developed under the former leadership of Wichita Mayor Finlay Ross with land that is acquired between 1886 and 1917 is located on a bend of the Little Arkansas River. Consisting of three areas which are the North, Central, and South, which are separated but are near each other. Featuring walking paths, a wildlife exhibit, an interactive water fountain, the Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Center, lots of open areas with picnic tables and benches, a lily pond and gazebo, a community building and so much more.
Kansas Wildlife Exhibit
A free display of native animals living in a naturalized enclosure, located in Central Riverside Park near the children’s playground.
Ralph Wulz Riverside Tennis Center – Public tennis featuring indoor and outdoor courts in South Riverside Park.
Museums – There are several Wichita museums are located next to South Riverside Park, which are Wichita Art Museum, Botanica, The Wichita Gardens, Mid-American All-Indian Center, The Wichita Gardens, and Old Cowtown Museum. Bed Bug Exterminator Wichita
Sim Park and Golf Course – Few distances away from Botanica is the public golf course that is 6,330 yards with a park that features picnic areas and outdoor fitness stations.
Keeper of the Plains – located near Exploration Place is the Little and Big Arkansas Rivers meet. A 44-foot tall steel sculpture was installed in 1974. The City of Wichita chose Native American artist Blackbear Bosin to create the piece and it has become an icon of the community.
